Jón Ásgeirsson

EVP of Strategy and Improvement, and the Resource Park

Jón Ásgeirsson joined HS Orka in March 2020 as Excecutive Vice President of Strategy and Improvement, and the Resource Park. Previously, he worked at Rio Tinto; first based at the company´s aluminium smelter in Iceland for 11 years where he joined the management board as casthouse manager. After that he was with the company for another ten years, based in Paris and Montreal. There he held various commercial, strategy and business development positions. Before joining HS Orka he advised international companies on transformations. Jón sits on various boards, f.ex. on the board of the Icelandic Red Cross. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Iceland and a master´s degree in Process Engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
